
Feel free to adjust the spice amounts to your liking. If you like it spicy- kick it up! This heart healthy dip features the colorful wonder spice tumeric and raw garlic.
2 cups dried chick peas
1 cloves of garlic
sea salt to taste
cayenne pepper to taste
extra virgin olive oil
juice of 1/2 a lemon
2 Tbs tumeric
1 diced tomato
Simmer chick peas in salt, tumeric & cayenne pepper until soft. Drain cooked peas and set aside 2-4 cups of the pea broth. In a food processor combine cooked peas, garlic, salt, pepper, lemon juice, tumeric, 4 tbs. XVOO, 1/4 cup pea broth.
Add XVOO & broth as needed until mixture blends smooth. Dice tomato & dust with sea salt & cayenne pepper. Place seasoned tomatoes on top of chilled hummus; serve with tortilla chips.
